NCI win Government IT tender for schools & council
12/12/2016
We're excited to announce that we have been selected by the Falklands Government to supply the hardware for transformational IT upgrades across the main Islands' schools, the training centre and throughout 27 separate council departments.
This New year, 2017 will spark new, exciting digital opportunities for the islanders as a huge container of 135 boxes of fantastic new equipment comprising Dell PC's and laptops, monitors, printers, UPSs (and toner and batteries too) has docked at Port Stanley having sailed for seven weeks to reach its new home. Thanks to shipment company Richard James International for looking after this tech bounty!
The equipment will be replacing old hardware as part of the Governments upgrade project with 75% of equipment deployed to the Education Department for use in 4 main schools covering both primary and secondary ages, and a training centre; the Falklands Islands Community School, the Falkand Islands Infant and Junior School, two of the four Camp Education farm settlement schools and the Falkand Islands Training Centre. The rest of the equipment will support Falkland Island Goverment staff across 27 separate departments.
Nikki Buxton, Managing Director of support company 'Synergy' comments:
Education Director, Andy Trish and his company NCI have been instrumental in the past few years in upgrading and enhancing the IT equipment in the Falkland Islands Camp Education farm settlement schools, and Synergy is proud and pleased to be able to add this new aspect of our working relationship with NCI, to help upgrade the IT equipment throughout the Falkland Islands Government.
There are over 2900 civilians across the Islands with the majority being based around the capital; Stanley. Many children and adults will benefit greatly from the new IT upgrade, also empowering teaching and learning.
