Exciting New EdTech at Bett 2018
07/02/2018
Dave Bettens – Schools Manager and James Scott – Sales Consultant recently went to the ExCel centre in London’s Docklands to see the latest technologies available for schools at the BETT Show 2018.
This was a busy few days that were spent with many of the leading manufacturers of ICT technologies walking many miles within the exhibition hall to ensure that nothing was missed. The big themes for this year show were around the current changes that are happening in Data Protection to ensure that schools are GDPR compliant. At NCI Technologies we have been talking to all our schools about this now for quite some time, and we will be running a training event for this again this month on 20th February, if you haven’t seen the email then just let James know, and he can give you all the details.
There was also lots of exciting tech out there to help schools teach the STEM subjects in new and exciting ways. Virtual Reality will enable you to deliver immersive experiences in your classroom, or have you thought about teaching coding using a Raspberry PI and letting the students see the device they are working with.
Another theme that ran through the two days that Dave and James were at BETT Show was making education more inclusive with many manufacturers redesigning their software so that it is accessible to all users with many focusing on having high quality software with only the features that you use rather than lots of options that are never used.
